Dierberg Vineyard was established in 1996 when Jim and Mary Dierberg planted their first vines in the Santa Maria Valley, one of California's most distinctive cool-climate appellations. The estate's vineyards benefit from the Santa Maria Valley's unique east-west orientation, which channels cold Pacific Ocean air and fog directly into the valley, creating growing conditions that are among the coolest in California wine country. Dierberg focuses on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah, producing wines that are known for their precision, elegance, and remarkable longevity. The estate's Star Lane Vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA produces a distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon that has earned national recognition.
