Bien Nacido Vineyards is one of California's most celebrated estate vineyards, a 2,400-acre property in the Santa Maria Valley that has been farmed by the Miller family since 1969. The vineyard's name — Spanish for 'well born' — reflects the exceptional terroir of the Santa Maria Valley, one of the few places in California where the coast-facing transverse valleys funnel cool Pacific air and fog directly into the vineyards, creating ideal conditions for slow, even ripening of cool-climate varieties. Bien Nacido has long been a source vineyard for some of California's most acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir producers, and the estate's own label showcases the vineyard's singular character with minimal intervention winemaking.
